2009 USATF National Junior Olympic
Cross Country Championships

December 12, 2009
Rancho San Rafael Regional Park - Reno, Nevada
Entry Information
The Junior Olympic program is a progressional series of meets consisting of preliminary, Association, Regional, and National meets. Athletes are required to submit an entry form only at the first level of competition, as advancement is based upon performance (i.e., an athlete cannot directly submit an entry form for the Regional competition; he/she must have competed and advanced at the Association meet).
Entry Forms and Fees for the National Championships
The non-refundable entry fee is $20 per individual (subject to change) and must be submitted with the individual's entry form through the athlete's USATF Regional Coordinator at the Junior Olympic Regional Championship meet. Entries cannot be accepted by any other method. Regional Coordinators will verify all entries for completeness and accuracy, including age verification. Entry forms not meeting all of the requirements will be deemed incomplete and will only be processed after all the missing information is provided and an incomplete-entry fee of $10 is paid at packet pick-up. Late entries will not be accepted for this competition.
Awards
The awards ceremony will be held on Saturday, December 12 at 7:00 p.m. at the Reno Events Center (one block from the Silver Legacy Hotel).
Individual awards will be given to the top 25 athletes in each event. Team awards will be given to the top 3 teams in each age division.
Course Details
The venue at Rancho San Rafael Park in Reno sits at the base of the ??? mountain range and is already renown for its superb cross country course. For 2009 the course has been revised to make it event better than when this championship was previously held in 2000. The loop courses will maximize spectator viewing points and ease of spectator access. The course is challenging with several hills and valleys and the majority racing surface is on grass, decomposed granite, or ground rock. The start and finish are with 200m of each other.
